Hi, our daughter has been diagnosed as ASD (Aspergers). She is 10. She has lots of sensory/ocd issues and some social issues too. Would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation with girls (or boys) the same age (ish). I'm from Essex. Thanks.

Hi samanthaannesmum I have a Dd who is nearly 11, she has a diagnosis of Asd, she also has sensory issues and hypermobility. She is very social with people she likes but has very dodgy understanding of social rules, she has made us roar with laughter today when she got into my friends bed with her 2 year old daughter!! They were playing a lovely game Grin
Of course she had no idea why I was trying to explain that you shouldnt really get into peoples beds!!

She is absolutely lovely most of the time, completely bonkers but lovely Grin

Hi Sam! Sending big hugs to you. My lad is 11 and was diagnosed with Aspergers at the age of 8. He also had DCD, dyslexia and discalculia. He has sensory issues too, mostly auditory . Do you know what services your daughter will get? I remember finding the diagnosis overwhelming, if you want to ask me anything ask away, hope I can help xx

Hi PolterGoose! Sorry for being thick, is hypermobility ADHD? Does your lad get much support at school? We are in the West of Ireland and resources are terrible!

Hi Ineedmorepatience - love your name!

Your last line could totally describe my lad too! :-) He has a kooky sense of humour, I think it helps him out in awkward social situations!!

Thanks for answering that - I thought Hypermobility was the same as ADHD. Smile

I'm in Essex. My son has Aspergers. He's loving, gentle, caring, belligerent at times, pompous, pedantic, stubborn, hilarious, loved by everyone he meets and an absolute joy :)
