Trying to understand behaviour - sensory / lexilalia / normal?

I noticed something about DS1 (9) today that I hadn't noticed before. I realised that he often repeats words that he sees eg shop signs etc. Today he saw the bus going past in the street and very loudly repeated the name of the bus in a sing-songy voice over and over til I stopped him after 10 or so times. I realised then that he does this a lot.

He has suspected AS (we have our 3Di assessment in Sept) and his little bro has Tourettes. DS1 has a few facial tics too so am becoming aware of tic-like behaviour.

Do you think that this repeating thing could be a tic, or is it a sensory thing. He has definite sound issues - he is never quiet and seems to make noise to fill the gaps.

Any wisdom very welcome x
