Mumsnet campaign in the Guardian

There is a piece in the Guardian about the mumsnet campaign here

It's great to see it getting publicity and demonstrates how powerful mumsnet is. Thank you for that MNHQ.

I don't, however, agree that my "biggest problem" is other people. Not by a long, long, long stretch.

My biggest problem is the constant, tiresome, law-breaking at every level of the health and education system and a general culture which treats disabled children like burdens of no value.

As well as 'checking behaviour' as the article suggests, we should be demanding root and branch change in the system to enforce the rights of children. This should be led by the big, Government funded charities backing this campaign.

I feel that just because we can't fight every battle doesn't mean we shouldn't fight some battles. Personally speaking, gawping and the like affects our lives significantly, so any attempt to raise awareness in that regard is much appreciated.

That's not to say the educational side isn't crucial. It's just that today I'd like to celebrate the attempts to raise awareness among the general public. If just one person learns not to gawp I'll be eternally grateful!
