steel toe caps

advice needed please
I have done another thread about this in chat but need the experts/
Ds was kicked today several times in the shins by a boy at his school. the boy was wearing steel toe caps. he has aspergers so not always calm.
need a bit of advice as when I speak to the school I know(from past expierence) that they will just say oh he has problems. but i am unhappy about anyone wearing this kid of footwear to school
ds is 14(nt) and so is the other boy and it is a mainstream secondry and the other boy has no support at school

I very much doubt that the school will be able to do much more than tell the parents that such shoes are not suitable. And one would have thought that a reasonable parent would know that already
