ffs that woman really hasnt got a clue has she??! Reading crap like that really makes me mad Angry
we are currently going through the assessment process for adhd with dd and I can tell u now a diagnosis is not given in 7 minutes!! we are 6 months in and still dont have a dx!

Trigglesx · 19/08/2013 19:01

The vile cow. I'd really love to see someone verbally rip the absolute shit out of her. She is horrible. I pity her children, I really do. The things she must be teaching them. Hmm

inappropriatelyemployed · 19/08/2013 19:13

She's an agent provocateur, a paid troll. Don't feed the troll. It's how she makes her living. She's a rent-a-gob.

it doesn't make what she says any better but she's not worthy of a sensible debate.

The Frankie Boyles and Jimmy Carrs and Caitlin Morans of this world are much more pernicious in my opinion. Mainstream and almost credible yet happily using abusive disablist language.

StarlightMcKenzie · 19/08/2013 19:24

Rent-a-Gob

ROFL........

I feel very sorry for her children... their mother jumps on band wagons then ups the ante to attract the most publicity in order to make a living. She's no better than those fame hungry folk that go on reality shows to earn a quick buck. Very sad actually.

I'm sure when they are adults her children will be very proud of her!

Trigglesx · 19/08/2013 20:22

my god - I had no idea that it took only 7 minutes to get from November until July.... from first paed appointment to actual diagnosis...

I imagine as adults her children with go one of two ways - either they will believe everything she feed them and are arrogant snobbish boors like their mother, or they will detest the very ground she walks on and will have nothing to do with her.

But oh... Rent-A-Gob!! Grin THAT was funny!

WetAugust · 19/08/2013 20:30

Liked Anna's response.

Tucked away in KT's article was the statistic that 1/5 children has a special educational need.

I find that a very high ratio.

Are we are the state when we have to redefine 'normal'?

Why so many?

StarlightMcKenzie · 19/08/2013 20:39

I dunno Wet. It probably contains as much truth as the 7 min dx.

She's obviously got wind of the "This is my Child" on MN.

Perfect opportunity for her to earn some extra pennies. No morals whatsoever.

I think she must have been looking at American models (or inventing facts for fun). I accidentally joined a US parenting site when pg with my first, liked the women, and stayed. And I have to say I have been totally shocked by their ADHD diagnositic process. (The ASD process seems more rigorous). Basically, in many cases, the parent goes to a meeting and fills in a conners questionnaire, and if it is 'positive' they often leave with a prescription. Single meeting process. No obs in school, no questionnaire for school to fill in, no behavioural support. In some cases the child doesn't seem to have been seen even. This has happened to several of my online US buddies. For all of the massive delays in the UK diagnostic system, no-one can say they aren't thorough!

Of course the woman is a professional wind up merchant, and delighted to see the standard '90% need a clip round the ear, that'd sort them' comment appearing. I would like to lend KT my son for a week to see if she could 'cure' him, or if perhaps she would learn a little humbleness. But of ocurse I would never expose him to such a toxic person (is that judgemental? ;) )

frizzcat · 19/08/2013 23:23

I agree with IE DO NOT FEED THE TROLL, or her bank account.
The only reason she is employed by anyone is because she drives traffic to their websites/tv programmes because people dislike her so much.
I don't care what she thinks or what she writes and I'm not upset by her article ....... She's a nobody just trying to be extraordinary. Her bubble will burst and she'll trot off to the retirement home of "didn't you used to be famous?" After which, she'll be replaced by another nobody who pours an endless stream of nothingness from their mouths

bochead · 19/08/2013 23:43

It takes longer than 7 minutes to get past the GP's receptionist to book the appt to even ask for a referral for diagnosis. Anyone should know this unless they themselves are too neglectful of a parent to ever have taken their kid to the GP with an infantile temperature, tummy bug or rash. US rellies tell me this part of the process is universal lol!

It also takes my mob longer than 7 mins to ensure there are enough chairs for their much loved multi-disciplinary sessions. She's more than welcome next term's in my place. She might achieve more than normal, by demanding a better quality of biscuit tbh.

Trigglesx · 20/08/2013 00:24

Probably only took her 7 minutes to write the article. Hmm Research? Why bother with facts?

autumnsmum · 20/08/2013 10:30

Mentioning reality shows wasn't the horrible woman on I'm a celebrity one year?

iwanttoscream · 20/08/2013 10:50

I don't remember her being on i'm a celebrity get me out of here. WOULD like her to be on it though, be worth voting for her to do all the gross challenges! Can't stand KH.

ouryve · 20/08/2013 12:31

7 minutes? It took more than 7 months to get DS1's ADHD diagnosis.

It only takes 7 seconds to diagnose a craniorectal inversion, mind. Stupid, ignorant woman. (KH, not you!)

I didn't even get past the first few lines. I wonder if i dare read to the end?

nenevomito · 20/08/2013 12:32

She's a professional troll who has decided that being paid to be horrible is better than a real job. She knows nothing, she is no one.

ouryve · 20/08/2013 12:38

ilikeI was quite bemused when an american went into a lengthy tirade about how she was shocked that we weren't given meds for DS1 the moment ADHD was suspected. She was a bit less horrified when I told her what the process actually involved - including questionnaires to all who work with him and observation in various settings over a period of time.
