I think she must have been looking at American models (or inventing facts for fun). I accidentally joined a US parenting site when pg with my first, liked the women, and stayed. And I have to say I have been totally shocked by their ADHD diagnositic process. (The ASD process seems more rigorous). Basically, in many cases, the parent goes to a meeting and fills in a conners questionnaire, and if it is 'positive' they often leave with a prescription. Single meeting process. No obs in school, no questionnaire for school to fill in, no behavioural support. In some cases the child doesn't seem to have been seen even. This has happened to several of my online US buddies. For all of the massive delays in the UK diagnostic system, no-one can say they aren't thorough!
Of course the woman is a professional wind up merchant, and delighted to see the standard '90% need a clip round the ear, that'd sort them' comment appearing. I would like to lend KT my son for a week to see if she could 'cure' him, or if perhaps she would learn a little humbleness. But of ocurse I would never expose him to such a toxic person (is that judgemental? ;) )
