Does anyone have any bright ideas how to de-whiff out sofa? Ds2 had a bad few days and wee'd on the fabric sofa a couple of times. We had it cleaned & I febreezed the hell out of it, but it still whiffs. Any solutions?

my mum swears by bicarb of soda for everything smelly, so worth a try?

We have fabric covers which are not supposed to be machine washed but we have done so on a low temperature and gentle cycle and they were fine - could you try washing yours?
Also if you are ever able to predict whether accidents are likely to happen (if DC is coming down with something for example) then could you stick a thick washable blanket or mattress protector thing on the sofa for a few days?

Vinegar, for wee. Bicarb for puke!

We have put our covers through the washer a couple of times, and used the bissell cleaner on it numerous times. All the same, after owning it for a decade, the smell is well and truly ingrained. The carpet's not much better!

Thanks everyone. I tried removing the covers but I just knew after 5 mins struggling that I'd never get them back on again.

Going to have 1 last go surface washing in the bath & leaving outside to dry. Fresh air & sun might do the trick. Will add vinegar to the mix!!

I've tried putting covers on but he always hauls them off. It's a sensory thing, I think

Thanks all

I use bicarb of soda, on sofa and carpets, use a flour shaker to sprinkle it on, do this just before bed time and hoover off in the morning, the longer it's left on the better, just make sure sofa isn't wet when applying bicarb.
