Hi,
I'm new here and hoping someone else out there can give me some advice. My oldest daughter has athetoid quadriplegic cerebral palsy and is deaf. We have been pursuing a clinical negligence claim since she was 9 months old and she was 6yrs old in March this year. Last week our solicitor called and shocked us completely with the news that the nhs trust has admitted full liability! We have received a letter of apology from them and our solicitor has told us he is requesting a big interim payment which we should get in the next couple of months and then it should take about 18mths to arrive at a final settlement figure which is expected to be "several million". We have so many questions about how it all works and what happens next. We have a meeting with our solicitor in the first week of September to go over everything but he's on holiday until then. We have never known anyone that has been through this and had the hospital make a full admission of negligence and causality. Is there anyone that has experienced this that can tell us how it all worked in their case?
Thank you x
