Morning. After several years of thinking something is just not "right" with DS a friend suggested I look at ADD . After completing an online checklist he comes across as having lots of attention problems but little in the way of hyperactivity issues. This certainly explains the difficulties we are having at the moment (actually a long while if I am honest).
His school thought for a while he may have ASD but this was ruled out.
My question is what next? I feel like he is struggling to cope and therefore the family dynamic is also suffering. At times its so exhausting...please someone tell me there is a light at the end of the tunnel??? Thanks.

He is very disorganised and untidy. Cannot seem to manage his own time. Loses things constantly. Finds it hard to follow instructions. Does not do well with receiving verbal praise but relishes material goods . Unkind to younger brother but shows no remorse or sympathy. Apart for that he is an amazing chatty confident boy with a great sense if humour !!

He is def not dyslexic ( I work in a primary school so know about that ). He can ride a bike ( but falls off a lot !) bit us ok otherwise. His handwriting had always caused concern at school and although we have tried to improve it nothing has changed.
