Hi there,

We have moved your thread over to our Special Needs: Children topic where there are others who may be or have been in your situation who may be able to offer some advice and support.

Best wishes

Some people on the board with children who cant sleep use Melatonin. It is normally released in the body but for some reason is lacking in children with autism. It is the chemical that tells the body to shut down and sleep (I think)

I would post something asking about sleep problems and Asd and see if you get more answers.

Good luck Smile

How old is dd? I have a ds and a dd with autism who don't sleep well. I don't use medication and the rule is they stay in their room if the door is shut but basically it doesn't matter when they go to sleep because I will get them up for school regardless. With dd eventually it takes its toll and she has a good night or two with ds it makes no difference because he only needs about two hours sleep a night anyway.
