mum posted this on another web group. She made this to show her family as they were having issues with her son who was born with down syndrome. You will probably see it better if you have broadband.

Wow- you're not wrong- what a strong message to her family. The disability is natural line really sprung out at me, never thought at is like that before, and the last one about needing someone special to come along and teach you about life (can't remember the exact words).

Do you know the mum? If so tell her I loved it!

eidsvold · 06/06/2006 00:33

no - it was posted on a ds web group. My crappy dial up is still downloading it.

I loved the one about being stubborn because my mum and dad are - amongst other things.

Woah! That was amazingly powerful.

Beautiful beautiful pictures Smile

Thank you for sharing that eidsvold.

eidsvold · 06/06/2006 00:43

I just got to the 'I am lovable' and the ' I am special but it has nothing to do with down syndrome.'

this is just amazing.

hasbean · 06/06/2006 09:53

beautiful

BudaBabe · 06/06/2006 10:00

Wow.

Thanks for that link - it's beautiful.

Angeliz · 06/06/2006 10:06

That is amazing.
So many of the comments are profound, i like 'don't measure my worth i am priceless'.
Wow!

Kelly1978 · 06/06/2006 10:13

That really was amazing. It really could do with being spread more, it raises awareness in such a powerful way. It made me think.

neena28 · 06/06/2006 10:45

How fantastic.

Real eye opener to those that think such negative thoughts about downs syndrome.

Wonderful I hope many many people get to see it.

Wow! That was lovely. Gorgeous little boy & obviously a very, very proud mummy.
I have gone all goose bumpy after watching that.
Thanks for sharing.

Thomcat · 06/06/2006 12:43

Lovely, great pics.
Agree with JimJams, that 'Disabilities are natural' line really jumped out at me too.

mum2seb · 06/06/2006 15:27

That was just sooo lovely! My family could do with seeing that in relation to my ds (he has Spina Bifida) and just disablity in general. I keep telling them that his biggest disability is their and other people's attitudes. It doesn't make him any less of a person because he may be in a wheelchair and will have issues with continence!

Eidvold...you're right! it did make me cry....

lourobert · 06/06/2006 19:19

I have goose bumps- amazing!

soapbox · 06/06/2006 19:49

Great - very powerful!

I rather liked the 'I am not broken, I don't need to be fixed' line.

Also the I am loveable reminds me of one almighty ding dong on here a few years ago with a woman who implied that children with autism were not as loveable as 'normal' children! I seem to recall that Jimjams disabused her of her silly views pretty forcefully!

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 06/06/2006 19:51

oh I'd forgotton that one- no it was a woman in the Sunday Times or something who was adopting a child (but not an autistic one obviously- well knowingly - I know a number of people who have adopted children who have turned out to be autistic).

chonky · 06/06/2006 19:51

Fantastic Eidsvold - thanks for sharing. I'm tempted to send it to my Mum, as she seems to struggle with accepting my dd (who is gorgeous) for who she is.

2mum · 06/06/2006 21:22

That was lovely. Im trying not to cry.

notanotter · 06/06/2006 21:28

yeah - that line 'natural' REALLY made me think!! lovely!

Cadmum · 06/06/2006 21:31

It made me cry too...

Very moving. The mum has such a lovely smile in all of the pictures. They are blessed to have each other.

MeAndMyBoy · 06/06/2006 21:33
