What age is he? I find it really difficult getting my ds to sleep but I am lucky that once he is asleep he sleeps right through until the morning. It is soooo frustrating when they wont sleep. Try not to let it get to you.

hes 6 he is still up now he just wont settle when he does sleep eventually he mostly sleeps till morning but then it takes half hour to wake him. school say hes not tired i dont know how he does it. he just talks all night and fidgets and demands and just will not relax

Have you considered using melatonin just to help him establish a pattern of settling quicker?

Omggg, I hope your ds goes to sleep a bit earlier tonight.

not sure about melatonin at least not yet although some nights if i had it i would surely use it. ds still awake since 7:30 , classical music playing helps him to stay calm but not to sleep. i could just scream some nights. ill be going to bed soon myself ss eyes on stalks...he will fidget and fuss and talk and get up lol

Has he always been a bad sleeper? I presume you already have a good nighttime routine, no tv, dim lights, blackout blinds, quiet stories etc..
I wouldn't suggest melatonin as a longterm solution but it may help to just get him into a routine of falling asleep quicker and then hopefully he would be able to do so himself naturally?

maybe i should find out more about it then.
yes always been a terrible sleeper from the day he was born. never let me put him down even when i thought he had finally drifted off he would scream as soon as he was put down.
we do all the bedtime routine as above.
however every now and then he sleeps before midnight and he is asleep now...oh the joy!!!!!! im so relieved
