Special Needs Car Seats.

We have been told by OT that ds2 needs a different car seat, as the bog standard one we have is too bucket shaped for his spine.

So, bearing in mind that the recommended specialist centre is in Milton Keynes, and I am nowhere near, I wondered if anyone has a Britax Junior Traveller, and if they can tell me if it is a bucket seat, or something a bit less angled? Don't want to hike to MK until I have to. I'm going to ask our local OT about it as well, but mumsnetters are so much more informed!!!

There are some pictures here . Don't know if that helps much; they don't look very bucket shaped to me. At least this will keep the thread bumped!

Does any one know where to obtain a seat for a 20kg, 3 1/2 year old houdini?

Can't believe I started this thread so long ago.

We finally got to Milton Keynes yesterday and had ds2 fitted for a Britax Junior Traveller. The place is really good. They spent about an hour with us, sitting ds in the seat, trying adjustments, taking it to the car to test and fit etc. I was v impressed. Luckily we only needed the junior sized one, which was £155, as the next size up, from age 6 is £500!

This place also does loads of non sn seats as well. I would really recommend them, even though we had horrendous traffic there and back (m25,m1), and it took us over 3 hours to travel 90 miles! Luckily the kids were very well behaved, and ds2 was so comfy in his chair he fell asleep in it .
