I think someone posted about this a while ago. I just got a flyer through the post about a one day conference at the ACE Centre in Oxford on 4th March, 9.30am-4.00pm. The first speaker is Keith Holland, Behavioural Optometrist. The rest I will summarise, . "Visual & Perceptual Problems affecting adults with nuerological difficulties", someone from "Deaf Childrens' Communicaiton Aids project", "Auditory Scanning"

Their things are usually free to parents but I think you have to join Communication Matters which is also free. The flyer doesn't have contact info and I've thrown the other stuff out. If anyone's interested, suggest you Google ACE Centre (I think part of the Nuffield) or Communication Matters.
