Does anyone understand these results and do you think there is sufficient progress when she has completed 4 levels of lexia this year. DD is 12.5 yrs old with complex learning difficulties. Been doing lexia and reads to someone at school once a week. The latest report has these results but does not give a age equivalent of whether in average range.
May 2012 May 2013
SWRT 101 98
Reading Rate 70 90
Comprehension 106 109
Accuracy 75 86
Fluency 77 78

Also she did a Group Reading Test where Standard score was 89 2012 and now 84!
I have got annual statement review next week and my views at the moment is that the lexia program has not tackled her main difficulties in accuracy and fluency.
Thanks

Can the person doing the assessment feedback to you?

Single word reading is average and remains so.

Reading rate was very low but now is comfortably within average, so maybe she is more confident with her use of word attack skills following intervention.

Comprehension remains average - this is despite of any other difficulties impacting on reading.

Accuracy was below average, and is now borderline low average/below average. A positive shift.

Can't comment on the fluency score, but the other areas show improvement.
