My friends daughter is in a mainstream school (scotland) at the minute but they are beginning to think its not the right school for their daughter. She's high functioning autistic and they feel like the school isn't offering or willing to offer the right support for her.
It all came to a head this week when her dd came out of a school dance upset, The head mentioned to my friend that her dd was a little upset (she was more than a little...) and suggested she needs to toughen up!
My friend would like to know how she goes about finding the right educational path for her dd. If anyone has been in a similar situation or has words of advice she would be very grateful.
