Has anyone any advice please. ds2 is refusing to wear his nappy, he is 3.4 yrs.
It started with a fear of the pictures on the front of the nappy & so have been letting him be nappy free at home. He has no idea when he needs a wee, it totally takes him by suprise the first he is aware is when there is a little puddle & also will not go anywhere near the loo or potty, (think this is to do with his fear of holes)so is not ready for potty training.
I have bought some plain nappies now &
have been forcing him to put a nappy on when we go out but he gets so distressed. Although OK once we are out of the house.
Tonight after mopping puddles & changing clothes all day, I was desperate for a dry meal time so made him wear a nappy, this just made dinner unbearable with him distraught hitting himself on the head. In the end I relented & took off his nappy.. Has anyone any ideas please... My washing basket is overflowing & my carpet not nice!!

sorry cant think of anything for you, except for (easyier said than done) just stick with it it could be a phase at the moment ds goes through loads and make a big deal of it as he might then start thinking their is something to moan about

Thanks redbull, trying to play it down & just go with the flow (parden the pun)hope your right & its just a phase. Just not sure how to handle the refusal??? Not sure if I would be better to be consistent & put a nappy on or if sometimes not putting it on is confusing??

odd suggestion but what about the tenna pad things. you could put them in pants and they would stop some of it.

Thanks 2 shoes could give it a try, not sure how he would react to an object in his pants but worth a go.
Anything is better than squelchy carpet!
