Mainstream Independent school and SEN

Has anyone had an independent mainstream school named on the statement please for a child starting reception in Sept 2013.
Please share your experience - what level of support was provided etc.

What evidence could you find that would convince a LA to name that as the ONLY suitable provision?

Just to say that it does happen, but only after the child has failed in the state mainstreams iyswim.

In your other thread you've said that there are some pupils in this school with their Statement fully funded by the LA. Could you get their details and ask them how they did it?

I've always been a believer that you don't get anything unless you try, so I would try. BUT go in it with eyes wide open - I really do think you'll end up at Tribunal with some very strong evidence to get this.
