going through DS school file. Statement says (it is a tad more specific)

"DS should have xxx specialist teacher come in to school every half term to set up, monitor and review programme for DS to address his xxx. LSA should be trained to deliver"

School and LEA decide: We will buy a CD programme from xxx that addresses the needs for children with xxx. This covers what the statement sets out

WTF!!!!!

I am actually more shocked that they think I will not notice this and not challenge them. ARGGHHHHHH.

Lol!

Sounds like the story of our life. I've discovered the hard way this year that even the best written statement means naff all if a school doesn't want to implement it. (Very disappointing tbh as DS's progress was almost vertical last school year but has flattened totally this year as a direct result of this "school wisdom").

Well that's fine, but then LEA will have to fork out funding for much longer for a specialist provision at this rate as all the scholl are proving is that a mainstream provision is unsuitable, and prove what my evidence was saying all along that what he needs is going to be very tricky ( e be with the most helpful of schools) if progress is to be made.

Well the weekend is here, going to try and switch off from it all...
