Grants for school uniform?

Does anyone know if you can get grants or any financial help with school uniform?

Thanks Poltergoose, I will look into it. Was quite shocked at the prices of school uniform £400!

You won't get a uniform grant from the LA:

"Most schools in ask children to wear school uniforms. Each school has its own uniform policy. The governing body of each school decides whether pupils should wear a uniform, in consultation with the headteacher, staff and parents.

In 1997, we stopped helping parents and carers with the cost of school uniforms. This decision followed in-depth consultations with local elected members and heads of schools and was made due to the financial situation of the authority at the time.

Unfortunately, the financial situation has not changed and we can't offer you money to help with the cost of school uniforms."
