Special Needs Double Buggies

Hi My DS is almost 3 and has ASD- he has no sense of danger and often refuses to walk, I am expecting a 3rd baby in November -are there any double buggies that are suitable for a newborn and a 3 year old, DS is getting to big for my maclaren XLR ( which is quite a big buggy) and no longer fits in to my Phil and Teds. I am going to speak to his OT to see if she has any ideas but I really would like him in a buggy when with me on my own, as when he is on reins he is a bit hit and miss and will often lie down and refuse to move.
Any Ideas welcome.

Hi that could work, I have a Phil and teds vibe which looks to be smaller than the sport or explorer so may look at trying out another version. I have had other doubles and found the tandem ones far to heavy for me to push, so It will have to be a Phil and teds or a side by side. I just have no idea how long DS will require it.

What about something like ]]www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-Trend-Double-Stroller-Delivery/dp/B00BFR8IJM this]]?

I used on of these when my DS was small and I was a carer for a boy 4 years older with classic autism.

Oh, good grief. I am apparently not functioning too brightly today... www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-Trend-Double-Stroller-Delivery/dp/B00BFR8IJM

zzzzz Thanks that's a really good idea- I will also see if anyone has one on FB.

Beemom That could be an option it - but would need to try and see if I could test drive it locally as I have tried a similar looking one (Graco) and it was to heavy for me to push.

Not a special needs buggy but i had a tfk twinner twist and its a good double for bigger kids. I can get my tall five year old in there, just. There are carry cot atachments for newborns

I found the baby-trend one was not terribly heavy, and I have had several operations on my back, so I am pretty picky that way.

Hi, I have just brought a second hand phil and teds classic double buggy they seem to be wider than the other phil and ted ones. My dd2 is 3 and a half and is the size of a 5 yr old. Dd3 is two and is just over the weight limit for the back seat. But it is so much easier to push than the other double I had (graco stadium duo). That was hard work to get out and about with!! Id recomend the classic

Dd2 fits nice in it, she doest look squashed and I will prob get about a yr out of it
