Seething with school-Statement Evidence

"A girls said X touched her 'private parts'" "Three girls said X put his middle finger up at them" ... have never been informed of any of this! Feel completely conned by the school and their accompanying evidence for ds2 request for assessment. I asked for the assessment in the first place based on his ADHD/spld and lack of academic progress. Always been told I wouldn't get it cos levels and behaviour not bad enough .. all of a sudden he's some kind of sexual predator and delinquent - WTF! We went through what we thought was all the evidence last week with SENCO and HT but this sheet was not shown to us at that meeting .. What should I do? I signed off on all the other evidence and now this has gone to LEA with it

Poor Madame and small MadSin, I truly sympathise. I've experienced this type of written 'evidence' too, so know it happens. Some of it can be perversely hilarious in a mad woman attic marching kind of way, but really it isn't when these 'reportings' eventually manifest themselves as the 'truth', even when it's not. Wait till you feel calm(ish) about it and ask the Senco about these incidents, even if you meet prevarication at least they'll know that yes, you do actually read everything.

Thanks Float Have sent email to HT to ask for a meeting to discuss. Our SENCO is a lovely lady, but isn't a mover and shaker iyswim. Thought I'd aim high first time round as HT is generally a reasonable person. 'Mad women in the attic' made me laugh .. I am that woman tonight, so will hopefully be calmer by then

Escalate this yourself. get social services involved right now so you can clearly demonstrate that a)your ds isn't harming other dc and b) he isn't acting out a real scenario of being harmed at home.

otherwise it'll become inflated rumour, threat and hearsay at whatever later date is most convenient to the LA, and it'll be much too late then to get to the facts of what did or didn't happen.

not sure about getting SS involved tbh .... can of worms etc. Am currently trying to ascertain if it's been sent off with application to assess. No one seems to know.

Getting ss involved would be a massive over reaction. I can see why this would be upsetting but try not to over react. If you are concerned maybe just ask the school about what happened in these incidents and say you would prefer to be informed if anything like this happens in the future.

Waving a middle finger at another dc is a behaviour-social rules-provocation thing. Did it really happen, if so Who / when / where / why and please tell me next time.

'A girl said x touched her private parts' and no-one bothered to tell you, despite the fact school were concerned enough to document and possibly circulate it. That's really appalling. It shows school have no idea of the relevant policies and procedures.

Which is why i said social services; but I appreciate everyone is terrified of them so another 'outside' body would do discuss it with. If only to log that this is the first you've heard of it. Perhaps the achool nurse or your GP? Or NSPCC helpline?

The 'incident' may have never happened, or been a simple misunderstanding, but really, someone ought to be sure. The full story needs to be shared with you, or else the allegation should be withdrawn.

Cansu yeah agree. I have asked HT via email and her reply so far has been she thinks there has been a 'misunderstanding' She has promised to investigate and get back. Meanwhile when I confronted ds teacher on the subject, she denied knowing anything about it ... strange, cos it was her name on the piece of paper WTF!
