my son confirm the diagnose of ADD and ODD, he took medicine of Ratalin since age 7. We are looking for full boarding school of year 7 this year, can he get into traditional school which has special education support?

Is he Statemented? Are you thinking of a 'Special' school placement for year 7 paid for by the Local Education Authority or a private boarding school paid for by you?

That would probably be down to the individual school. You'd have to check their behaviour policy and find out if the level of support would be enough for your child. Also if he's been in a school for children with his problems would he be able to 1) cope with the changes to class size 2) cope with the boarding aspect? My ds has same diagnosis & would probably struggle.

Also, out of curiousity, why are you looking at boarding school? (apologisies for being nosey Grin )

Private? Specialist?
Or a mainstream state school with boarding places?
(only a few around)

There's an online guide called gabbitas which has a SEN version.
