I have a 16 year old son and currently live abroad. To date he has been educated at local schools here and for the last 5 years, an international school who better understand his problems . He has been diagnosed since 9 years old ADD and depression about 2 years later. He has just left school as can no longer handle it there- I feel the only way forward - and to get him to finish the last 2 years of his education- is to send him to a specialized boarding school in the UK.
My son is very opinionated and has a higher than average IQ ( can't translate in to good grades)
He has been difficult for ever but things really took a turn for the worse when he hit 16. He has recently changed his medication as he hates taking pharmaceutical drugs but is now on a different med - a little calmer but still refuses to go back to finish this school year. His school have been very accomodating and allowed him to drop some subjects - still he can't handle it. So - my question is to you all - can anyone reccommend a good boarding school where he can be nurtured and stimulated to reach his full potential ( with no gcses as don't do them here) thank you !!
