My boy saw the Paediatric Specialist on April 2nd.
Got the letter back today.

He is 4 tomorrow btw.

Locomotor skills between 24-30 months
Manipulative skills between 24-30 months
Visual skills between 36-48 months
Hearing & language between 24-30 months
Speech & language 24 months
Interactive & social care 15 months
Self-care social 30 months

The FARS-2 assessment indicated stereotype behaviours around 2nd centime, communication on 37th centime, social interaction on 50th centime.

Autism index of 85 which makes the probability of autism very likely.

He has GDD.

So there we go.

Am ok on the outside but inside, my heart it breaking.

I know that's awful.

My baby boy is so intelligent & funny. I wouldn't have him any other way.

I want to cry.

He is upstairs singing & playing, oblivious to the world!

Thanks for reading.

Remember, whatever it says he is still your beautiful boy.

Take some time out and be kind to yourself.

Is he at nursery/preschool WCW? If he is speak to the senco about getting the right support for him. If they are not helpful apply for a statement yourself. There is helpful info on IPSEA or contact your local Parent Parentnership.

Good luckSmile

Hugs to you.
Of course it's hard to see it down in writing, even though it's not telling you anything you didn't already know.
Of course he's still your gorgeous and funny boy, and that doesn't change, but now you have an official diagnosis, it will be easier to get support for him.
Does he go to Nursery / has he started being referred to Educational Psychologists yet ?

Thank you.

He is in nursery.

Will speak to them tomorrow when he's in, now he has an official diagnosis.

I find out his school on Thurs. will go from there, regarding help at school.
