I hope he stayed out so you didn't have to put up with him anymore

Ineedmorepatience · 31/03/2013 20:31

Better out than in star

Sorry Blush he sounds delightful Hmm

StarlightMcKenzie · 31/03/2013 20:32

Sounds like something my dad would have done a few years back when DD when through a period of crying a lot whenever we took her out Sad. Some people have no patience but it's a bit gutting when it's your own family I know.

HumphreyCobbler · 31/03/2013 20:45

sorry FIL ruined your meal out. I hope you spat in his food whilst he was gone

TeggieCampbeggBlegg · 31/03/2013 20:50

Poor DS.

Fil is a nob.

Wine
StarlightMcKenzie · 31/03/2013 21:09

Yes. All fine now, but would have appreciated a bit of support rather than withdrawal.

It ain't about him. He's a fully grown man. This is my life and I'm doing the best I can, as is his son.

I would have ordered double desserts, then when he came back in asked him to pick up the bill while you took DS out.
Deserves to have a financial penalty for his nobbiness. [bugrin]

LimboLil · 31/03/2013 22:21

You should have told him to sit at another table and thrown buns at him

MareeyaDolores · 31/03/2013 22:23

He couldn't cope with the sensory overload so sensibly gave himself some time out Wink. Tell MIL: Next target 'verbalising a socially acceptable excuse'.

StarlightMcKenzie · 31/03/2013 22:25

MIL left FIL for another man!

And we're surprised [bugrin]

Next time a family meal out is suggested with FIL I hope you will remind him about his behaviour towards your DS, and decline. If he is going to get up and walk out its not supportive to your family and what message is it going to send to your DS. Until he can 'man up' and try to help I would exclude him, but then I'm mean

MareeyaDolores · 01/04/2013 10:42

I quite like limbolil's suggestion...
