Anyone fancy a meetup @ the Science Museum sometime in the next fortnight?

Open to suggestions for other venues as the weather is still so grotty.

Meanwhile DS3 is ignoring his breakfast while wearing a knitted Santa hat. In April. Gotta love the randomness!! Grin

On the train. DD had meltdown because she's 'squashed' (it's not actually that busy!).

DS2 happy staring out the train window. DS1 absorbed in a sudoku puzzle. DS3 busy looking at a Mike the Knight comic with stickers.

Coping OK so far apart from knowing I won't get there till after 10.30 because the tickets were £100 dearer if I caught the 8.32 instead of the 9.12...(£100!!!)

Sounds like you are doing well couthy... Hope you all have fun!

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 03/04/2013 12:33

I'm there but can't find anyone! Currently on lvl 3. DC's having fun. My everything hurts already!!

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 03/04/2013 13:39

Back & knees really sore now. DD keeps having mini meltdowns about people 'hurting' (touching / brushing past) her. Still not found anyone. DC's Having a good time but a bit lonely on my own.

Can't believe I missed this that'll teach me to stay away from MN for so long

Hope everyone had a good time and you all found each other!

London zoo would be great. What about a weekend during term-time? (just cos selfishly, I think we're going away for the next half-term Blush)

Back home now. Nobody lost, no injuries. Grin

DS3 LOVED the bubble show, even if holding him sat down was like trying to tie an electric eel down with strawberry laces...

The older ones loved the launchpad.

They have asked to go to the Natural History Museum next half term.

Spag Bol heating through, feet aching (and the rest of me!), shame I missed those that were there, but at least it spurred me on to think I might be able to do it alone with the DC's. Which I can.

Though I was getting tetchy about the lack of accessible tube stations by the time I got back to Liverpool St.

If I do any more London things, I can't leave my own town until 9.12, getting into London at about 10.24.

So can't meet people before 11am, I think. And that's us getting up at 6.15am!

It's just the cost before 9.12 (what an arbitrary time, too!!), and extra £100 just isn't affordable.

£35 or £137?!

I still can't believe the price difference for travelling in rush hour though. I think that's criminal tbh.

Well done, though, Couthy! Smile

We hung around the downstairs entrance till about 11.15 hoping to catch the coach of SN kids, then DS got bored. We spent the morning in the Launchpad and attended the explosion workshop. Went outside for lunch as it was getting a bit overwhelming. In the afternoon DS did the wireless workshop so has a new pencil case to show his teacher. He heartily enjoyed the suffering of the Barbie dolls used in the demonstrations! I am so proud of him! More concrete evidence of just how far he's come.

Totally made up for yesterday when we should have spent a lovely day and overnight with my sisters except my loo broke Monday nightSad. DS went and a lovely time was had by all except me who spent a solid 24 hours desperately bailing muck and trying to fix the darn things. (Had to get my Mum & sis to come and collect him as obviously you can't have a young child in a house with no loo!). FINALLY got it sorted with the help of a neighbour and a mate last night when they got in from work. Sometimes it's not our kids that give us the biggest headaches lol!

There's a SN day when the ticket prices are reduced at London Zoo sometime in May. When I've got my breath back from the last couple of days I'll look up the exact date. I think I saw a thread about it somewhere on here at some point?

Here you go, zoo day

bialystockandbloom · 03/04/2013 21:14

Boc if it makes you feel any better, we have an ongoing problem with loos in our house - downstairs one blocks if you put anything more than about 3 sheets of loo paper in. Upstairs one flush doesn't always work so can sit for a while until dp gets home and sorts if out.

Meanwhile ds won't even contemplate using a toilet which has even a speck of anything visible in it (even a solitary bubble from loo cleaner makes it out of bounds) so will never use the upstairs one, but also can't stay in the loo while the flush is making a noise, so if he has to use, ahem, several wipes of loo paper downstairs it takes flipping forever as he'll go, wipe, then have to flush (to avoid blockage), then stand in corridor till the flush-sound finishes, go back and continue wiping, and repeat to fade....

bialystock - tbh now the crisis is over I'm just grateful that if it had to happen then at least it happened during the school holidays when DS is at his most relaxed and flexible, & that my family were in the right place at the right time to help out. If it had happened during term time I'd have had a crisis on my hands for sure.
