1st DLA claim "We will be in touch within 7-10 days"

Have put in first claim for DLA for DC1. Received a phone call on Thursday 14th March with a few more questions, then was told I'd hear from them within 7-10 days.

Saturday I received a letter saying that I'd been appointed manager of DCs claim, if a decision was made to pay DLA. Is that what I was waiting for? I kind of assumed he meant we would have a decision of the claim within that time.

This is a standard letter when a claim for DLA is submitted for a child I believe.

However in our case it was followed very quickly by another letter confirming his DLA award.

But do you think that's what he was referring to when he said they'd be in touch in 7-10 days? Or an award/rejection letter? As that's been 11 days Confused Unless of course he meant working days?

Just called up. Decision was made and letter posted on 20th. She can tell me that the claim was successful (woop!) and payment was actioned on 20th, but she can't tell me any further information. If not received letter by this time next week I have to call again and they'll send out a duplicate letter.
Gonna be keeping close eye on bank account now too lol Grin

Well done... it's quite normal for money to go into account before you have received the letter.

Still no letter, but a lovely payment in my bank account this morning, that allows us to pay off the remainder of our holiday Wink
