My son is awaiting first appointment with paed, basically we went out for a carvery today as we do this once a week due to other fussy eaters in the family and we like a roast dinner! Anyway ds had a complete meltdown whilst leaving due to not being able to take his drink in a glass ( that he didn't previously want) home with him, staff put it in a takeaway cup and this made him worse anyway to cut a long story short he had to be carried out by me he grabbed hold of my top showing my flabby baby belly to the whole restaurant, bar staff had to carry my 6 month old to the car whilst he hit and bit me and went nuts. I then had to restrain him in the front of the car for 20 mins to calm down enough so I could drive without him removing seatbelt unlocking the door, he had to be in front as baby in back and he tried to hit out at her:( . Guess it has hit me that more things are pointing to as than not and how the hell will I manage him when he's older?! I know that some of u go thru a lot worse, but I am very sad today that we can not enjoy even an hour out. I am currently getting no help awaiting OT and that's it and physio for his toe walking. How can I mange these meltdowns?..........he is currently wide awake asking me how far (precisely in miles) is McDonald's and other various points of interest.........the paed can't tell me this is normal surely?! Xx

Hey lovely. How old is he?(sorry if I missed that part!)

I'm feeling pretty much the same at the minute about my ds (6) only getting bigger and stronger but this week I have turned a corner with myself and how I deal with him. It's made life easier. The first thing I did was relax and repeat its not his fault he behaves in these ways. It's a really small point but helped me loads

He's 3.5, thanks for your advice jules when he calmed down he said sorry and that he really doesn't want to be naughty so I know he can't help it but my god it was embarrassing!

And polter u are so wise could u just possibly move in with us?! Haha good advice about public as I literally ended up dragging him out as I was so conscious of everyone thinking he was just another spoilt bra having a tantrum and needs a good smack on the bum :(
