MNSN south west next meet up?

Those who came to the last one were saying how much of good time they had, so I wondered if there was interest in an Easter Hols meet up, (at Gateway Centre again.)

I think Wilts have their hols earlier than the rest of the country? So I would be around to do a meet up some time in w/c 8th April...

Food if you want....Mushroom Curry, lentil dahl, naan, salad...

No probs if no-one is up for it... just thought I would offer

It did sort of all pour out. It reminded my of chatting with my family (not my DSs) when we all just talk over each other.

I really appreciate Internet friends, TBH. They're more reliable than RL ones. And don't get hurt if you ignore them for a few days hours.

Sounds like fun. It seems very difficult to meet other parents with sn children

It is hard, eggandcress. Does your area have 'contact a family?' I think they're a bit like 'meet a mum' but for parents of DC with SN.

I will try googling. We seem to live in a bit of a desert in terms of any kind of help or services

I emailed Bournstream about the possibility of using them for a meetup and got this reply from them:

It sounds perfect for your group to use & enjoy together!
And yes, best & necessary for a couple of you to join & be shown the ropes - just contact our joining coordinator, Jinny, her details are on the website under "how to join" & they run fortnightly on Saturday mornings at 11am - or by separate arrangement Jinny can tell you all about. The one-off joining fee is £10 & others may chose to either share that cost or leave a small donation in the box on site when you come, that's up to you of course.
Bournstream is not staffed so it's important to be fully briefed & know what you're responsible for yourselves in coming to use the play site when it suits you all to meet up.
All our play site details - rules & pictures & info - can be shared with the others in your group via the website, our latest newsletter should be on their soon under "news" page.

Yep, Woolacombe beach is fantastic!

Exmoor zoo is nice (not too big, but interesting animal selection)

The Quince Honey Farm thingy was nice - not huge, but would occupy an hour or so...

Ilfracombe is nice for a potter around (but the beach isn't as good as Woolacombe). It also has a nice little aquarium.

We didn't like The Big Sheep. VERY expensive and nothing much for DD (3 with cerebral palsy) to do.

Big swimming pool thing at Croyde which would be nice if the day is wet/cold.

We've heard good things about Watermouth Castle, but didn't make it.

(Can you tell we were based a little further north than you? We were literally around the corner from Exmoor Zoo)
