Ds (8yo) has some issue with 'expressive language' and especially with the ability to verbalize sounds reasons.
One way it shows itself clearly is that he can write quite a lot things well but would struggle to say the same thing (The difference between his written work and the way he speaks is very clear).
This could also be linked with AS (currently being assessed).
So I have been wondering how I could help him develop the 'verbal' side of language. School can't quite see the problem because they rarely talk about things out of context and think I should ask him to write stuff instead.
Would a SALT be any good? or any other support you could think of?
