Hello.
As some of you may know, my ds1 (9) has sen and sn.
He was dx as severely dx in 2011 and asd in April last year (although in the end we decided against getting the dx for that.)
For 2 years - since year 3 - we have been trying to help him after realising school could not/would not. Senco reported "no concerns" even though an EP report dx severe dyslexia :( he was making no progress and scoring low level 1s across the board.
Sonce then he has done a course of rrt and Ait and is currently following the TH programme - all of which I found out about on MNSN.
So this is just a thank you really!
We had a parents evening tonight. It's his last one before he goes up to middle school in September and he is doing so well :)
He is scoring level 3/4 across the board, in fact is working ahead for maths.
He is happy and confident and the teachers and other kids love him.
I would simply never have believed it 2 years ago...I was in a very dark place, have taken him out of an awful school and home schooled him for 11 months.
MNSN is such a great place for info, help, sympathy and - sometimes - a kick up the bum :)
So.
Thank you.
My son would not be where he is now without you.

I have to say that I really admire you. You must be so proud of yourself as well as being proud of your son. Smile

Badvoc · 14/03/2013 19:24

Oh, that's so kind...thank you, ruggles x
I just talk about my experiences and things that have helped (and things that haven't!), it's all any of can do really isnt it?
I know that over the months the humour, sympathy and vast experience on MNSN have been a godsend for me.
I really hope that MNSN stays that way.
