DS1 was admonishing DS2 for 'taking things too seriously'

I said 'that is a case of the kettle calling the pot black'

DS1 said 'why is the kettle racist?'

I was telling DD2 about the fact that DD3 had a big spot on her hand and that I'd offered to burn it off/cut it out/saw her hand off.....until she showed me that it was a bouncy ball under her glove. I said that I'd phoned the ambulance and he'd said I'd go to prison if it turned out to be a bouncy ball instead of a real spot (this is all true- DD3 and I were playing a game).

DD2 was stood open mouthed, saying 'Really?'.

Bless her. She doesn't have a cynical bone in her body.
