Hi folks, we were up to 995 posts, so I thought I'd better start a new thread

OP posts:
CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 30/04/2013 20:50

I'm still shaking my head in disbelief tbh.

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 30/04/2013 20:53

They didn't have antihistamines or Jext pens at that point. They could have fucking killed him. If they tried that now, it WOULD kill him.

What would they have said?!

"Oh, sorry, we didn't believe you, but now he's dead we do believe you?!"

How the FUCK were they to know what would happen?!

These were people I TRUSTED with his fucking life.

And everybody knows effing everybody in this town, so I really daren't talk to anyone.

God I wish I could leave this town.

I won't, because DD is in Y10 and needs the stability, but by Christ do I wish I could.

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 30/04/2013 20:56

These were the people I thought were my closest two friends.

Flipping heck, some folks are just mentalShock. The trouble I've found with allergies is that a few parents for unknown reasons make out their DCs have spurious allergies, then misinformed people extrapolate and believe that all allergies are made up.
Because it's not clearly visual (although it can be pretty fast as in DSs case), and parents like us are good at keeping allergens out of DCs diets, we get lumped in with the "fashionable illness" brigade, and it's the DCs who suffer.
I am often half tempted to help these "well-meaning folk" get better informed by getting them to eat nettles to see how it feels for DSConfused.
At least you know what they've done, and can deal with the situation armed with all the facts. I'mConfused on your behalf.

And of course, the NHS is going to prescribe daily cetirizine syrup, Jext pens, AND Neocate Active, which can't even be bought OTC, for a DC without a dairy allergy, aren't they. Confused

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 30/04/2013 22:18

Made me laugh - they asked to see DS's skin prick test. He had it done last on the 24th April. So of course, the pen marks are still going to be visible today, aren't they?! And the reaction is still going to show after 6 doses of his daily antihistamine, aren't they?!

Because of course, biro doesn't wash off in the bath, does it...Confused

In amongst all of this, I have got an answerphone message saying that the Statutory Assessment Service (what SenCan is called here in Essex now) have allocated a Specialist Pre-School Teacher to DS3. It's what used to be called Portage.

I didn't request this. The Paediatrician that saw DS3 in October last year pushed that through without me even knowing about it. I only found out in February or something, after it had been through the panel for the first time...

So according to SS, I'm making up or exaggerating his issues, yet according to Education he has enough SN's to qualify for Portage.

One thing I want to know is if he has been assessed by the 'specialist pre-school education board' through the 'Statutory Assessment Service' - isn't a statement a 'statutory assessment'? Does this mean that DS3 has a statement?

Oh - my EX-friends asked to see all DD's, DS1's, DS2's, DS3's AND my own medical reports before they would believe me.

Part of me wants to stuff 15 years worth of fucking appointment letters, reports, and associated gibbons up their noses sideways, and the other part of me thinks "what the fuck right do they have to see mine and my DC's medical reports / records."

Tbh, I don't give a shit if they think I'm lying, it's only SS that I need to show these things to, so I will show them a flash of the stack I have - but DD, DS1 AND DS2 have asked me not to share their medical information with others, my Ex has asked me not to share DS2's or DS3's, and if they want to see mine they can get SCREWED!!

So fuck the lot of them.

InMySpareTime · 01/05/2013 07:20

I wouldn't even bother to tell them to get stuffed, I'd cut them right out of my life if I were you. You don't need people like that in your life, it's hard enough getting by with supportive friends, no need to allow people to bring you down.
Your DS3's school stuff certainly sounds like a statement, you should get a copy of it, stating exactly what support he will receive and why.
My DS had a basic statement when he had bilateral hearing aids, setting out that he needed to be at the front of a group, directly facing the teacher so he could lip read, and that the teacher should attract his attention before assuming he is listening.
Despite DSs numerous medical issues (deafness, asthma, CMP allergy, eczema, absence epilepsy) we have never been able to claim DLA for him. They really do make it difficult, and it's such an upsetting process we decided it wasn't worth putting us all through it any more.

This WAS done from the Paed referral. That's how it went to the Statutory Assessment Service. Something called a Section 332?

Think I spoke about it on the first thread.

Not quite sure! Confused

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 01/05/2013 13:39

OMG. That does look like he may have a statement. ConfusedShock

He's only 2y3mo!!

He's not even AT preschool yet.

Flipping heck.

But of course, I'm making it all up, aren't I... Hmm

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 01/05/2013 13:40

If you are on the App, that 'sad' face is meant to be a hmm... Face!

GrinWink

Abso-fecking-lutely shattered. Still got 3 hrs until DD goes to bed, plus however long it takes to get DS3 to sleep.

And my bastard joints have decided to be bastardy again.

Maybe I'm overdoing it ever do slightly...?

Leonie......you really ought to do something. You can't keep waking after seizures with your cheeks bitten.

I'm worried about you!

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 02/05/2013 07:23

On the plus side, they have texted me and told me that they think we should just stay away from each other. Fine by me!
