It was nice to hear from some posts Dinkys mummythat you have moved and are enjoying your new house.

We promised you a housewarming party so although its Monday night here it is.

I'm not actually big on alcohol but I have some cherry brandy left over from Christmas, plenty of Brew and my speciality shortbread.

Here's to a great new start for you and Dinky.

Aha, I wondered what this was about!

A bottle of wine and a gift of some twigs and pebbles for you.

Enjoy your new house!

Dinkysmummy · 12/03/2013 08:49

Thanks all Thanks

Wow I missed the party while measuring up carpets and curtains... That sucks!

Already new house is marked improvement and dinky (with months of prep) has settled in like we have always lived here! This morning I heard her get up at 5.30. She came down to the toilet went back up and played in her room until 6.45 and asked if it was time to get ready for school yet (snow day Confused )

Just asked dinky what her favourite thing about the new house is...

She says "my massive room and the gigantic tv!" (we used a 19" in the hostel now we have a 42" Wink )

Grin Grin Grin Grin

Super happy thanks again for all your support and good wishes

Housewarming gift Thanks

Glad it's going well, hope the snow day hasn't thrown you all too much. Has Dinky changed schools as well, yet?

Tootsandblanket · 12/03/2013 14:59

I missed the party too- I was going to share my mega tray of Mother's Day Ferrero rocher ... But it looks like I shall have to eat them all myself .. Yum.
I'm so happy to hear that dinky is settling inner new home.

Dinkysmummy · 12/03/2013 15:35

Toot you are so holding out on us! Not fair Envy

No Ellen dinky hasn't changed school yet. I went to see senco yesterday and she seemed eager to get dinky out and into the new school ASAP. I asked if the Easter break helps as she would have a clean break from that school to the new one. But no she said she was going to phone admissions and see if they could speed up the application. Angry

Never mind....

I have lots to think about... Such as... What colour do I do her room ect! Wink

Hope you are all enjoying snow day!

Thanks
EllenJaneisstillnotmyname · 12/03/2013 15:41

If you think it would help your DD to have a clean break over Easter and time to say goodbye to friends, perhaps you could try to insist on it? Old school certainly showing its colours now. Sad Though having a few days at new school before Easter might be good as well, make the change more gradual? It'll give your DD time to get used the idea with some proper knowledge of the new school. Could she do some half days to start before Easter?

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname · 12/03/2013 15:42

Pah! No snow here, just freezing brass monkeys weather.

NoHaudinMaWheest · 12/03/2013 20:07

Hi glad its all going well. Sounds exciting.
Agree with Ellen I think you should insist that old school does what's best for Dinky not what suits their convenience.

Happy new house :)

Dinkysmummy · 12/03/2013 21:22

Thanks giraffe not gate crashing by any means.. join the party!

Ellen, I dont think my insistance would change a thing they will do as they please. I'm sure I will get told the plan in due course and have to go along with what they decide. Angry

Time to grab a Wine and relax... (upside to new place.. No 2 year olds running around at this time... It is lovely and peaceful!) Smile

Thanks for all your support and well wishes everyone! Thanks

lougle · 12/03/2013 21:51
