Hello,

Our son is 6 - diagnosis ASD/ADHD. His ADHD is quite severe and 'debilitating' according to the paed. We have an appt on wednesday to discuss medication (we are open to trying, in my view, it is really affecting his life, and if we don't try, we'll never know) and I'm just wondering if there's any questions that would be useful to ask, in your experience?

I'd be asking for a discussion about the different medications on offer, and why the paed would choose x for your child.

There is no one ADHD medication. Horses for courses.

Ds tried concerta, but now takes Vyvanse. Concerta did nothing. Ds says the Vyvanse helps him control himself.

I would 2nd asking the question about "how quickly you can get support from their team"

Having just made my 5th phone call (over a 4 week period) to my local camh's in connection to my DS's medication and still my DS's doctor has not returned any calls. I am extremely annoyed.
