Drove an hour to Southport to a place called Splashworld. Every month they have a "quiet night" which is for families with children with ASD. The entry fee is normally quite expensive, but on quiet nights it's subsidised- £5 for DS to get in and DH and myself were free as his carers.
Lots of families there with children of varying ages and varying abilities. DS had a whale of a time- rapid/whirlpool thing, water chutes and lots of squirty water/fountain things. He had a treat of MacDonalds "chippies" on the way home.
First time I've been, won't be the last, although talking to the guy who organises it on the phone this morn, he said there's another session in2 weeks( night for people with disabilites) and then there's the end of year budget review, and in his words "fingers crossed we can carry on " I really hope so, it was fab- everyone was having a great time.
