Special needs child, education and behaviour.

Has anybody on here had experience with special needs residential schools? I live in Suffolk and have a 14 year old grandson with behavior problems. He is struggling with social skills and education. The diagnosis is Autism and ADHD. We are wondering if residential special needs may be better for him.
