Hi sphil
I have no idea but sainsburys will ice a picture onto a cake. I had a photo of my mum iced onto her 60th birthday cake and it looked really good. Apart from nobody wanted to eat the legs Grin
If you have enough time before the cake is needed perhaps you could place an advert in your local PO or shop there are alot of individuals who love doing this kind of thing and they are usually quite reasonably priced. If you get one made you can also avoid it containning hydrogenated vegetable oils which most / all supermarket cakes do.

Hasbean, off topic a bit but interestingly all M&S cakes are now transfat free which is great news I think.
I would say get someone to make one as it will tste much nicer. Supermarket cakes all taste like cack (but I love bakingso I would say that...)

I heard that they were hydrogenated free and went 20 miles to buy one for my dd1s birthday which was the next day and they still contained it. (January 06). Unfortunatly I had to buy one as I didn't have a back up plan.
I heard on the radio M & s are trying to remove it from all products but cakes ect. will not be available without it until the autumn
I agree with you it's far nicer if it's homemade

sphil - have you asked your local bakery? Ours makes cakes to peoples' specifications.

Clary · 04/05/2006 23:50

hasbean, no really?
Actually I am sure I checked some recently (I am such a label fanatic) and they were trans-fat free. But maybe I was mistaken.
Will have to check again now....

I can only suggest making one, or have someone make one for you!, buying cakes is a crime against nature Grin

and purveyor of ALL things, EBay ,might be a good place to go, a lot of eoplel sell sugar discy things with pictures on them and can make them to order.

Do you know any old ladies with a lot of time on their hands... they all know how, or know someone who knows how to make cakes and ice them
