You'll never guess what DD2 brought home from school today

She brought home a star that another girl had coloured in.

It had 3 hearts and said....

"I love you "

How crazy is that?

She has never brought home anything from school that indicates she was even in the same class as 29 other children.

She's moved school and she's brought home something that another child did for her.

I'm in Shock

Aaahhh, how lovely lougle, you are having a similar experience with this new school that we had with Dd3.

I had to keep pinching myself in case it wasnt realGrin

Bluebirdonmyshoulder · 04/03/2013 16:05

I don't often post Lougle but have followed your ups and downs, but so glad your dd seems to have found her place at this new school Smile I sometimes think that the children in the school seem to 'take on' the ethos of the school ime. The schools where my children have struggled with teachers not accepting them, also have children who don't accept them and visa versa.

So glad she is happy at her new school.

How lovely Smile

lougle · 04/03/2013 17:00

Thank you all :) She wouldn't let me walk away from the classroom until she had found it in her bookbag to show me. Then, she carefully cradled it all the way to the car, like a precious artifact, which it was Grin

That is lovely, Lougle.

As a sort of PHSE exercise, my DSs' primary school used to do a task that involved each child having a piece of A4 with their name at the top in red pen. Every child in the class had to write something positive about that child on their piece of paper. So you would get 29 little anonymous, heart warming comments, (sometimes a bit repetitive) about each child.

DS2 had things like, good at maths, giggly, happy, good at computers, bouncy etc.

Obviously had to be carefully supervised in case of the odd bitchy or critical comment getting included, but it was a lovely thing.

lougle · 04/03/2013 21:21

DD2 said 'that's x...he's going to be my new boyfriend, after y.' I said 'erm...boyfriends are meant to be very special, I'm not sure you should be planning on having too many..'

She said 'I won't, Mum, just these two...'

She's 5 Shock

Lougle, remembering the attitude of the HT in her last school, that would just re-kindle your faith in humankind. How lovely for her.
I've got all excited and posted on here when DS has come home talking about his 'friend' which turned out to be the real deal. Its heartwarming.
Delighted for your DD.
