DD is 7 (this week) and currently going through the process for statutory assessment and as part of it she saw an Educational Psychologist at school who has written this latest report. The main wording of the report is full of inaccuracies, mis-quotes and doesn't give me the impression that they 'get' DD at all. Could be talking about a completely different child if it didn't have her (incorrectly spelt) name written at the top. Then there is tables of the results DD got in various tests (BASIII) but with no real explanation as to what they mean (apart from explaining what centiles mean) and how this impacts on her learning and behaviour at school.
I'm sure they are easily interpreted by the professionals involved but I would like to know for myself, so I can think about ways to help or what may cause the problems. i know I could ask school/EP instead but after reading the rest of the report I'm not confident their explanation would be totally accurate either. Does anyone here know how to interpret these scores and would be willing to give me an independant explanation as to what they mean?
