Ive namechanged, we've had several EP reports and now a developmental paed,
current diagnoses are Aspergers, there are elements of sensory processing disorder, dyspraxia, sensory issues and OCD we have also just been told he may have cerebral palsy (I've suspected this for a while it would certainly be very mild)
he is also very bright (IQ over 135 probably higher because he wouldnt cooperate with the tests)
our reports just list a load of issues, and occasionally there is a woolly recommendation (so he has social issues, comment ds may benefit from attendence at a social skills group etc)
several times it says ds should be set more challenging work or ds is unengaged in the classroom because the work is too easy etc etc.
But i dont know where to go from here?
does it need translating into concrete recommendations? if so who buy and how do I go about doing that?
what can I do about the harder work thing?
this has been said in reports about 3 times now, when it is said for a couple of weeks he will be set challenging work then very quickly it is back to letting him read books so that he is compliant in the classroom.
it took me about 5 yrs to persuade my husband that he needed to be assessed yet now he has been I dont see that we have any benefit (except maybe his teachers are more understanding when he disrupts the class continually)
thanks for reading this I would love to have some opinions/ideas.
I dont get on her much at the moment but I can read, posting is harder but thanks
