Hello all.....need everyone,s expert advise here. Dd was diagnosed as non autistic by private ped on the basis of which SA was turned down and reason given was there is an emerging picture of dd skills which are age appropriate. However panel does acknowledge dd has additional needs in language and social communication. More time should be given to professionals to evaluate dd and next time SA should be done thru school.

Cut to present - dd has asd diagnosis from NHs and I meet LA next week to either re-evaluate dd for SA or see me in tribunal.

Any pointers for the meeting? LA knows I run an ABA program and probably that my tutors hv just started going into the nursery.

Big thanks to anyone replying:-)

You " Are you going to re-evaluate mini zumbaleena for a statutory Assessment of her SEN"?

LA "No"

You " See you at Tribunal, bye".

Unless they say yes...

Hmmmm....so I met them today and they tried 2 things - first told me to re apply for SA which would mean wastage of further 6-10 weeks for me and secondly, said dd is quite able and that they do not really do ABA. I followed all instructions given here - dressed smart,y, remained calm, did not give out much, showed I meant business and knew the law. Result - they agreed to reconsider my request for SA and I will know the panel result in a couple of weeks

She'll probably tell panel to say no.

Spend the 2 weeks preparing your appeal. If you're lucky and they do just assess, it's not wasted. You can always edit the same document for the note in lieu appeal and /or the rubbish-content-of-statement appeal Wink
