Am on a teaching assistant training ourselves and yesterday we covered autism/ASD/ADHD and 2 of the women on the course where saying ADHD etc are al made up conditions and they are just naughty children .. The tutor tried to tell them that they actually are not naughty they cannot help it. These women wold to have it at all.

I tried to talk to them (DS - poss ASD/PDA) and explain before i realised that I might as well have been talking to a wall, and these people want to work in a school working with our children ...... Grrrr rant over !

I think they are in the wrong job. Poor kids who get them.

HumphreyCobbler · 26/02/2013 22:14

they are definitely in the wrong job

such ignorance is a vice Angry

So why weren't they reported and asked to leave? Our children deserve better than that.

And just to think, if I wanted to be a TA I'd never even get an interview.

I am a bit gobsmacked if they were allowed to continue training.....

If they wont listen to the trainer and are that self opinionated towards SN then really tbh these people should be kicked off the course never to be seen again near any kids.

It is dangerous to let them near our children sadly it doesnt surprise me and it makes me sad what damage these people will be setting out to do due to their ignorance :(
