Autistic Schools in England - Please Help - Bit long

Hi my 6 year old son has Autism with server speech delay. He is currently attending a mainstream school in SE London he has a 1:1 and has his Statement. Although he is doing OK it's getting to the point there isn't too much more the school can offer him and think it time for us to start looking for a special school for him so he can develop further.

This is where I start to get stuck!! I would like I'm to attend a school for just children with a diagnosis of Autism I've looked at most schools in London and I'm still unable to find anything suitable for him. A lot of the special schools I've visited most of the children have behavioural problems and can be violent, my son has no behavioural problems and is very scarred of these situations that we witnessed.

I'm now at the point I'm willing to relocate anywhere in the South of England, and would really like your help in providing any schools that you think could help me.

Hello, I'm not sure if this school would be suitable as they stipulate in their admission policy that it's primarily a school for children with language & communication problems. However they do accept children with Aspergers. Google ICan school - Surrey.

Also I would suggest you contact the sen department of your local council and request a list of local special schools. They have to provide you with this, but I wouldn't limit yourself to just those schools as he would prob get funding for an out of area placement if your local schools do not provide the support he requires. And don't forget charity run schools like ICan.

How about Blossom House? It specialises in communication but they cater for autism as so many children with autism also have speech and language problems.
