How long is it supposed to take?

I requested this on the 28th November during the annual review. It's basically to include DS's diagnosis. Got an awknowledgement letter in the Xmas hols but have not heard anything since.

Got a school meeting this week and I'm wondering whether I should chase?

Annual review meeting at school isn't the annual review itself. Legally speaking, the AR is is a paper exercise by the statementing officer, sometimes with an optional nod from panel. The officer then decides whether to amend the statement incorporating the advice school gave after AR meeting. But there's no statutory timeframe (I think) and no requirement even to tell you anything (I think) unless they issue an amended statement.

Worth knowing what they did (and when) though, cos you can take 'failure to amend' to tribunal but only if you find out about it within the 2 month deadline.

The code of practice states that once the la have cinsiderednthe paperwork and made a decision ie to amend then they have one week to let you know. Also the review has to be completed within one year so if your last annual review was February 2012 then you must have a decision by February 2013. I would put a request to them In writing asking that they deal with it ASAP - November is a long time and surely they must know by now what they plan to do.

I agree with bjkmummy. When I had a similar experience and the LA was ignoring all my letters, I found that what worked was telling them that if they didn't send me the decision I was going to see a lawyer about judicial review.
