Blind panic! Where to start looking for work experience for my ASD/ADHD son!

My Year 10 son is expected to have a 2 week work experience placement sorted for June of this year.

I am in panic mode as he has a diagnosis of ASD and ADHD and the school are providing very little help or guidance. In my niavety I expected a little guidance as he has 28 hours per week extra help on his statement. His interests are music and ICT but he is adamant he wants to do his placement in a music studio.

I have helped him with his CV and covering letter for applications but as he has such a low attention span I am terrified about this placement as I dont want to set him up to fail or lower his self esteme even further!

Has anyone out there been down this path with their ASD child? Any advice would be great!

I do not hv personal experience of this but try mandy.com for unpaid work ex in media or music. It might be useful to try both approaches. Telling some he has asd and telling others he does not. Those who are accepting see if his tutor can go and work with him there

Mine did his at the local Oxfam and they were fantastic.

I realise that my suggestion isn't much help, but despite it not fitting with what he thought he wanted at the time, he really enjoyed it.
Have you thought about any local radio stations?
