Is it always 26weeks how long was yours?
Did you get the support you wanted?

Mine took 26 weeks as they followed the timelines exactly. I got an okayish statement I thought at the time but the it all fell apart 6 months later but that's another story!

It took 26 weeks although I did reject the first two proposed statements. I did have to wait longer than I would have liked for the statement planning meeting with the school and by the time a TA had been employed I would say it was a whole term on top before the full statement was in place.

I sent the letter on September 1st, had the final statement on January 20th. 20 weeks from start to finish, including naming the Special School I wanted.

It took us over a year from first request to getting a finalised statement, that we are still appealing the content and placement of too. Hopefully everything will be sorted in around 4 weeks though so total time in that circumstance will be 1yr9mths. We had to appeal at every stage so far though the LA gave in without a hearing previously at each point once the tribunal paperwork was lodged.

No, that's the Statement for my DD1, who was pre-school age at the time.

Her timeline was:
2yrs 9months -flagged SN
2yrs 10 months -1:1 support for all sessions through Inclusion funding
2yrs 10 months -emergency referral to hospital after collapses
2 yrs 10 months -Consultant care - EEG, ECG, CT, MRI, 24hr Tape, SALT, OT, etc arranged
3 yrs 1 month - Epilepsy dx, CT clear.
3 yrs 1 month - Portage referred
3 yrs 5 months - 'Squiffy brain' dx from MRI
3yrs 9 months - informed INCO that I wasn't waiting for her to sort herself out and would apply for SA myself
4yrs 1 month - Statement finalised, Special School place confirmed.
