Almost a diagnosis!!

Finally, 13 months after starting the ball rolling we very nearly are near diagnosis stage!!

Ds had his ADOS assessment in January and I got the report through on Friday stating that he "shows a high level of autism related symptoms" And that "his behaviour is likely of that indicated to being on the autistic spectrum.

He still has more assessments lined up to determine exactly where he lies on the spectrum and what his specific difficulties are but suddenly it feels that we are getting there, that its not just us thinking of excuses as to why he is like he is but now there are professionals who have spent a few short hours with him who have also picked up on it.

That's really good to hear, mentally, what a relief for you. Hope the rest of the assessments help complete the picture (and help get the help needed). Keep us posted.

Glad you are getting somewhere. Its like a huge weight of doubt lifted off the shoulders when someone else "sees" what you see :) Hope the rest of the assessments fly by for you x
