ASD & Support within mainsteam school

Hi, my son (yr 2)was diagnosed last Nov with ASD (typical Asperger's characteristics). Prior to diagnosis, school arranged for SENDIS to meet with him and us separately and some stratergies were put forward to help him. He now meets with a Learning Mentor outside of class twice a week.

My question is... I have never seen an Action or Action plus report or IEP. When I questioned our SENCO about an IEP I felt like I was dismissed.

I know how silly this question seems but... I need to know what to ask school? I always feel like they think I am an 'neurotic parent'. My son is such an anxious child but rules and routine are what make him 'tick' and he will cope at school. He's a smart boy, generally in top sets but socially a complete loner. He's obsessive and is uninterested in his peers unless they not only share a common interest with him but to the same degree which means he spends his play & lunch times alone.

After a really upsetting incident last week where I felt like the whole 'square peg/round hole' syndrome applied to him I asked for a meeting with school. I now have another meeting with SENDIS and prior to that a meeting with his teacher and SENCO. I feel like I want to go to these meetings more prepared and wondered if you could help me. I know I am waffling and if you've made I this far thank you!!!

What do you want from the meeting?

You need to have an agenda and be clear in your mind what you are asking.
