tribunal panel proposed changes

Anyone submitted anything to the consultation about reducing sendist panels down to two panel members? What do people think about these proposals?

Deadline 22nd February.

I'm not keen. It would be giving too much power to the legally qualified member, since if there's a split vote they would get the casting vote. There are definitely times when the two lay members on the panel have more sense than the lawyer.

I completely agree veritate and with the more prickly members of the judiciary a bit of emotional intelligence doesn't go amiss either although I have seen some very compassionate chairs there are the others who would be described quite differently!
